Ohio State Linebacker Steele Chambers is a senior with three seasons of eligibility. As a finance major, he has achieved notable academic recognition, being named a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

In the 2021 fall camp, Steele made a position switch from running back to linebacker, and he performed admirably throughout the season. He participated in all 13 games, securing four starts and accumulating the second-highest number of defensive snaps among Ohio State linebackers, totaling 423. With 47 tackles, he ranked fifth on the team and also achieved 5.0 tackles-for-loss, one sack, an interception against Nebraska, two pass break-ups, two quarterback hurries, and a forced fumble. Steele’s career-best performance came against Maryland, where he recorded seven tackles.

Before transitioning to the linebacker position, Steele played as a running back and special teamer in 11 games for the Buckeyes in 2019 and 2020. During this time, he showcased his abilities, accumulating 221 rushing yards from 28 carries with an impressive average of 7.9 yards per carry. In 2020, he averaged 9.6 yards per carry with 87 rushing yards from nine carries. Steele’s highest rushing game occurred in 2019 against Miami (Ohio), where he amassed 63 yards on eight carries, securing his first collegiate touchdown.
